Hybrid Format & Travel Restrictions
Conference Format
The conference format will be hybrid.
The Onsite (Real) Event
The onsite venue will be in "Casa de Convalescencia" (Barcelona) following the standard format of a face to face conference. Keynote speakers, work presenters, panel participants, etc. will have the usual lectern, audio system, pointer, computer and projector to have a presentation in person. Coffee breaks and lunches will take place in the same building following the social restrictions applicable during the conference week. Similarly, social activities will be organized respecting the applicable restrictions.
The Online Event
The online participation will be as follows:
- Participants: a multimedia signal will be distributed by streaming from the three parallel rooms of the conference. Any registered participant will have access to these signals. At question time, online attendees will have the opportunity to submit questions through chat which will be moderated and read by the session chair. Real attendees will have priority before chat questions.
- Presenters: online presentations will be possible. The presentation will have to be recorded in advance and submitted to the organization for quality assurance. At the session, chair will connect to the author through a videoconference platform, who will be online during the projection of the presentation. The projection will be triggered by the session chair. During questions, the author will answer them live using the videoconference tool.
- Recordings: all the conference will be recorded and made available asap. Any registered participant will have access to these recordings for one month after the conference.
COVID19 situation and restrictions
In this fall season 2021, the current pandemic situation is improving significantly in Barcelona. Immunization rate is now near 75% and the infection ratios are being low despite that the restrictions have been relaxed. Masks and social distancing are only mandatory in closed spaces. Summits are allowed, all hotels and nightclubs are open. Vaccination passport is requested at airport for travelers, please see links below.
In December, Omicron variant is causing a new infection outbreak all over the world. In Catalonia infections are increasing, however the severity in health is lower than previous outbreaks. Some restrictions have been activated again by the Catalan government affecting nightclubs, number of attendees in private meetings and curfew. The rest of activities are not limited. Masks are mandatory in closed spaces and recommended in open areas. A campaign for third dose jab is on the way. From the ETS22 OC we are closely monitoring the situation. Please, go to "Facts and figures" for daily updated data.
In January, given the current evolution of the COVID wave and the positive response that is happening in the society and the authorities, the Organizing Committee of the ETS22 continues preparing the hybrid format of the conference and encourages all participants to join the real event in Barcelona. Please, check regularly the web page and be aware of new emails to know the preparation details coming soon.
