Public transportation in Barcelona

From airport terminal T1

El Prat terminal T1

All international flights arrive to Barcelona terminal T1. There are three options for commuting with the conference center and nearby hotels which are the most convenient.

  • Regional Train.
  • Subway.
  • Aerobus link.

Regional train

A free link bus (PR1) must be taken at T1 to switch to terminal T2, where the regional train station is. Then take any of the regional cars: R2 / R2S / R2N that will bring you to "Sants" train station. From there you can go everywhere with bus or subway. For example, to go to the conference center you could take subway L5 and get off at "Sant Pau | Dos de Maig" station. In total it may take about one hour. The whole trip can be done with the standard public transport card "T-casual" (10 runs) sold in all the automatic teller machines.

Subway

In terminal T1 there is a subway station, line L9S, that connects with all Barcelona subway lines. Very convenient for moving all over Barcelona. The only limitation is that L9S (Airport destination) must be paid with a specific ticket. For the rest of the lines the "T-casual" is valid.

Airbus link

A bus link (A1) to Barcelona central "Plaça Catalunya" square is a fast option. It has a specific ticket not integrated in the public transport network. From "Plaça Catalunya" there are many bus and subway connections.

Other public transportation tickets

If you are visiting Barcelona for a limited number of days and don't want headaches buying transportation tickets, the most convenient is the "Barcelona Travel Card". You can move in all the network with unlimited trips during a maximum number of days, including line L9S to the airport destination.
